Leanna Bavara Farashe

A gitana at heart, Leanna loves to explore unique and different dance paths while building her skills in the classic methods. She started her Belly Dance studies at Habeeba's Dance of the Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio. Other than attending seminars with nationally known teachers such as Dalia Carella, Amaya, and Zambra Mesmera whenever they come near Ohio, she has also studied Flamenco with Diana Dinicola of Louisville, Kentucky, and regularly studies Spanish Fusion Belly Dance with Conchi Madson in Cincinnati, Ohio. A proud member of Alhambra Dance Troupe, Leanna has performed for numerous seminar/shows, multi-cultural events, ethnic festivals, and weddings throughout the Midwest with Alhambra Dance Troupe and as a solo performer. Often performing at private events and festivals like the annual Goetta Festival that is held on the beautiful Main Strasse Village in Covington, Kentucky, Leanna dances solemnly, balancing a sword scabbard as well as a sword garbed in a ceremonial Japanese Kimono or fiery, twirling huge skirts in her own unique and lively Arabe style. At other venues she has been known to perform with 2 very sharp swords and a tree stump. Whether it be in the classic style with zills and flowing veils or one of her unique styles, Leanna has kept many audiences entertained.
